Welcome to #breakthrulinkup #15!

Do you have trouble "launching" in the morning?

I guess, put another way, I could ask "Are you a fan of the snooze button?"

You know what I mean: the alarm is set for 6 am, but (unless you have to get the kids or your hubby out the door) when the buzzer beeps or the music starts up, you roll over and hit the magic button that gives you 10. more. minutes. Once, or twice, or maybe even a third time...

Being totally honest here, I have to confess that that has been a description of me more than I'd care to admit.

But I watched a short video post on Facebook today that totally inspired me otherwise!

The speaker (and I forget her name and couldn't find the clip to save my life when I was writing this) shared how she, too, was a snooze button fan until she began to compare waking up in the morning to the concept of a rocket launching off into space.

Don't you love it?!

So are YOU ready to launch?

Now, when the alarm goes off in the morning, she mentally counts down from 5, and when she gets to "1", she literally launches herself out of bed!

Sure, she admits to feeling a bit silly at first, but she has begun to see the enormous change that it has brought about to her mornings, and the ensuing day, as well.

And that has made all the difference.

The new year is a great time for you, too, to try something different if you're feeling a little dissatisfied with your status quo.

→ Maybe you need to makeover your mornings a bit...

→ Maybe you need to deal with that anger issue you've been putting off for too long now...

→ Maybe you need to just rein in the chaos in your life and take another stab at implementing a planner or planning system... (And go ahead and take a look at my brand new planner while you're at it!)

Whatever it is you need to do, get started with it TODAY - and then become determined that tomorrow morning when the alarm starts buzzing, you'll start counting...

Five...four...three...two...one...

And then TAKE OFF! Launch yourself into a new day with a new attitude and new tools to reach new heights!

C'mon, friends, let's BOTH make the most of the coming year!

  2. They call it “hangin’ to the bed” up here, and that’s not my particular challenge. I’m up and moving when the alarm sounds, and sometimes before. My challenge is to use that early morning time in the best and most rejuvenating and God-glorifying ways. So easy to just wander around and wool-gather.

    1. OK, so I gotta ask – because when I DO get up in the mornings, I’m usually able to be pretty productive. lol But what kind of activities do you define as “wool-gathering”? Are you referring to, say, housekeeping tasks? I’m just curious…

  3. What a great illustration! I really struggle with mornings, so lately, I’ve been setting my beloved Instant Pot to have steel-cut oats ready by the time I get up. I think of coffee. And of course, I want to have a few minutes to clear my head before the sleepy teens descend to the kitchen. 🙂 Thank you for the inspiration. I will check out your planner.

    1. That’s a great idea for breakfast. Although breakfast is my favorite meal, I don’t particularly enjoy having to think about it when I wake up. (Now if we’re going out for dinner I’m all for heading to the pancake house, tho…) But I can get that Instant Pot set up the night before! Love it! Thanks for the idea 🙂
