I dunno, is it only me? We have five grown-and-flown kiddos, and while I remember Christmases when they were little, I also remember Christmases during the teen years. But…perhaps the latter not quite as fondly as the former…if you get my drift.

Because finding awesome Christmas gifts for the little ones was always oh-so-much easier than finding them for my teens!

Over on the You Can Homeschool podcast, Tracey and I had a conversation about that recently, but we decided to DO something about it (unlike those conversations people have about the weather. You know: “People are always complaining about the weather but nobody ever does anything about it!” #dadjokes).

Christmas gifts your teens will love!

And after some intensive (sorta) research, we came up with a list of awesome Christmas gift ideas for teens! But you can use these for birthday gifts, too, or just “I love you!” presents…)

So if you’re still lacking a gift or two for your teen, pour yourself a cuppa, grab your phone or a notebook, and enjoy our latest candid conversation. (For your convenience, I posted links to the items we talked about below the recording.)

Awesome gifts mentioned in this episode:

  1. 1 – Husband pillow – These are the kind of pillows you can use to sit up in bed and read, study, or watch tv. You can find a nice assortment here.
  2. 2 – Fleece blankets – These are available all over for not that much. Teens (especially girls, in my experience) just love cuddling up with a something soft. 🙂
  3. 3 – Lapdesk – These are great for working in bed or on the couch (two of my teens’ favorite places…)
  4. 4 – Portable charger – In this day of technology, running out of juice always seems to happen at the worst time!
  5. 5 – Felt letter board – You’ll see these on Instagram all the time. So cute! But also great to post positive encouragement to ourselves…
  6. 6 – 20+ Quotes / Canva subscription –
  7. Kitchen items – Use gifts as an opportunity to help sharpen your teen’s #adulting skills:
    1. 7 – Cheeseboard or Charcuterie Platter
    2. 8 – Spiralizer – this handheld one has a great instructional video
    3. 9 – Craftsy lessons
    4. 10 – Devo’s for teens w/ journal – These actually might be something to shop for together. It’s really important that the devotional resonates with your teen…
  8. 11 – Wood burning kit – So many uses – so much fun!
  9. 12 – Multi-tool – looks like something out of a Transformers movie, but is really super-practical! Also available at Lowe’s or Home Depot. (And great for girls, too, btw)
  10. 13 – Book of Paper airplanes – by Klutz Teens enjoy these, too!
  11. 14 – Origami kit – Check the link for an interesting write up!
  12. Skateboard, longboard, or ripstick w/ safety gear –
    1. 15 – skateboard
    2. 16 – longboard –  If you’re not familiar with this item, it’s a bigger version of a skateboard and (supposedly) an easier way to learn how to skateboard.
    3. 17 – ripstick –  Also known as a castor board, is basically 2 separate boards for standing on, connected by a center rod.
    4. 18 – safety gear – a MUST, please!!
  13. 19 – LED basketball hoop lights – It gets dark earlier during the winter. But this’ll keep your teens outside and in the game later in the afternoon.
  14. 20 – Glow-in-the-dark basketball – Perfectly paired with the hoop lights!
  15. 21 – Magnetic dartboard – Avoid potential human injuries and damage to your walls.
  16. 22 – Outdoor Jenga game – This actually makes a great family gift, and your teens will have a blast playing with their friends. Accompany this with a glowing fire pit and ingredients for s’mores nearby, and you’ll be THE “place to be” during the holidays. 🙂

But I’m sure there are more! Show off and share some Christmas gifts that were a hit with YOUR teen in the comments.

And Merry Christmas to you all <3!
